Stormwater Pollution Sign

I created this stormwater sign illustration for the Texas Water Resources Institute using both original illustrations I created and illustrated pieces from artists on Freepik.com. The sign was installed in El Campo, Texas and informs local citizens and stakeholders how they can help prevent stormwater pollution with some best management practices. These practices help the environment and prevent common pollutants from draining into the local Tres Palacios Creek and other water nearby.

Infographic

This infographic was created based on research from reliable sources about a current event that multiple audiences can relate to. After choosing the topic, I designed an eye-catching infographic that may be easily read and physically attractive to any age group. In these diagrams, the audience is educated about the Millennial Generation’s unique life choices in comparison to previous generations’ lifestyles. The statistics inform us about higher education achievements, marriage, and living arrangements.

Infographics can be beneficial in both print and online environments. The ease of reading graphic illustrations compared to a full article draws the audience in more quickly and keeps their attention, allowing them to learn more and be made aware of a topic they may have only skimmed through otherwise.

Book Cover Design

This book cover design concept for Eat Pray Love was encouraged to be unique, representing the author Elizabeth Gilbert’s writing as I experienced it. The inner cover contains images arranged in a pie format representing food, meditation, relationships and travel as these are the main themes represented throughout the story. The book jacket includes a die cut of a compass with a compass spinner to further represent the personal journey of the author. The typeface chosen for the title is called Red Moon Rising and was picked for its unique qualities and decoration, relating to the travels and trials the characters experience in their choices. I chose a crisp, white, linen paper for this book to add character to the outer cover in a subtle way.

Illustrated Playing Cards

The History of Tea Playing Cards are hand illustrated and contain a different fact on each face card about the history of how the tea trade spread throughout the world from it’s first use. These are original vector illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and each suit is themed after the major countries involved in the tea trade: China, India, the United States, and England. The back side of the cards is a leaf pattern inspired by tea leaves.

Art Department Newsletter

This newsletter was designed for the Sam Houston Art Department, from the title logo to the layout and organization. Color choices and geometric shapes were chosen based on inspiration from the actual art department logo. Each image represents art from students being recognized for their achievements and is displayed in an attractive pattern to create a cohesive layout for a large variety of artistic talent including graphic design, painting and drawing, photography, sculptures, and installations.

Corporate Identity Redesign

This project focuses on all aspects of business branding from the logo to the website and everything in between. Every detail was considered including color scheme, textural representation, typeface relevance, branding boards, thumbnails, business cards, business stationary, packaging, storefront design, way finding signage, advertising, uniforms, promotional items, wireframe website concepts and responsive UX/UI design across multiple technology platforms. Once each aspect was complete, items were presented to the client as a mock up to display how the designs would appear realistically.

5K Fundraising Event

These shoe prints, monster illustrations and logo design were created for the Preemie Prints non-profit organization’s annual 5K event. These items were used online, on poster prints and t-shirts. Inspiration from this costume-themed event in October led me to create a monster typeface with monster illustrations and shoe prints that include the essential event details. This event also hosts a Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit Reunion with an Angel Baby Butterfly Release Ceremony.

Travel Poster Illustrations

Encouraging travel can be a challenge but these playful, picturesque spot illustrations represent well-known landscapes from the states Colorado and Washington. These travel posters were digitally drawn using Adobe Illustrator with a clean white background and text that appears handwritten, allowing the audience to feel as if these locations are a personal goal.

Personal Identity System

Professional branding is essential for the success of any business. These coordinating logo, stationary and resume designs are self-representational. Each feather illustration symbolizes a different creative tool meant to reference multiple skills, inspired by the idea of having multiple feathers in your cap. The colors, illustrations, text and layout are meant to be clean and organized, printed on a linen paper to add texture and subtle character to each piece.
